Happy 2026, friends!
The last few months have been a bit of a blur. We sort of accidentally became whistle bootleggers and helped coordinate the distribution of 1.25 million whistles (and counting!) to places throughout the country that wanted to protect their neighbors. While that was a lot of fun, it definitely was a bit of a distraction!
Through all of that, Bree has been dealing with her carpal tunnel taking a sharp turn for the worse. It’s reached a point where she can’t even sign books anymore, or hold a pen. Or sometimes a fork. So tomorrow she’s finally going in to have surgery, which means no computer or work for the next few weeks. (Arrrrgh!!!!?!?!?) But hopefully after she’s done healing, she can focus on all the fun projects she wants to do with less pain, less frustration, and fingers that can actually feel things!
Of course, being self-employed means that when you can’t work, you aren’t getting paid. So if you’d like to help us get through the next few bumpy weeks, here are a few things you can do. (And one of them involves PREORDER GIFTS!!!)

2. Pre-Order Prince of Storms
The sequel to Daughter of Tides is out in June, finishing the story of Aleksi, Naia, and Einar! It also ties up some of the plot points left open at the end of Queen of Dreams. This is a duology you’ll definitely want to read in order, but we think it’s well worth it. The ebook and the audiobook are both available for preorder now, but if you like print we have a special treat…
If you order the print copy from one of our partner bookstores, they will send you your book with a special custom made Sea Goddess bookmark! We have been 3D printing these for the last few weeks to make sure we have enough, and they turned out amazing. The picture can’t do the shimmery sparkle of the ocean waves justice, but we promise it’s super amazing!

3. Check Out Our Shop Wishlist
The etsy shop has been an unexpected savior for us this year, allowing us to take a step back from deadlines and work on a few passion writing projects (like an O’Kane novella we’ve been meaning to write for years!) and for that we’re incredibly grateful.
While we have had to close the shop for the next few weeks to make sure Bree’s hand heals completely, we have a shop wishlist where you can buy us some sparkly filament that will let us print even more things to sell once the shop opens up again. (Bree is going to make her husband learn how to run the printers so she can restock the shop while her hand heals! Wish him much luck. LOL)

While this is a fairly simple surgery, I am going to drop the 3rd person and admit I am super nervous about it. I’m not great with medical stuff anyway, and my little ADHD brain is in a spiral about having a few weeks where I literally Can Not Work. Please send all the most soothing & calming vibes my way, because I know that in the long run I’ll be very glad I did this, but today I’m kind of nervous!
Hopefully all will go smoothly, though, and I’ll see y’all on the other side with a fully working hand! I’m so excited to get back to work on all the fun things we have planned next!
